Cheese and Crackers

Build the Board Foundation (2 mins)

• Select a large wooden board, slate, or platter as your canvas.
• Place the cheeses on the board first, spacing them apart to act as anchors for the other ingredients.
• Spoon the fig jam into a small ramekin or bowl and place it on the board, typically near the goat cheese or brie.

Arrange Crackers and Fruits (2 mins)

• Arrange the buttery and whole wheat crackers in flowing lines or fanned-out stacks around the cheeses.
• Wash and dry the grapes, keeping them in small, manageable clusters. Place them in a couple of different spots on the board.
• Core and thinly slice the apple just before serving to prevent browning. Arrange the slices in a fan shape near the cheddar.

Fill Gaps and Serve (1 min)

• Fill any remaining empty spaces with the roasted almonds. This makes the board look full, abundant, and inviting.
• Give the board a final look, ensuring there's a good balance of color and texture.
• Serve immediately with small plates and napkins.
