Ber & Yogurt Parfait
A simple, elegant, and balanced snack, this Ber & Yogurt Parfait combines creamy Greek yogurt with vibrant mixed berries and a crunchy seed and nut topping for a protein-packed treat.
For 1 serving
If using fresh berries, gently wash them and pat dry. For larger berries like strawberries, hull and slice them. If using frozen berries, thaw them in a small bowl for about 15-20 minutes.
In a separate small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt with the optional honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract. Stir well until smooth and evenly combined.
Spoon approximately half of the prepared Greek yogurt mixture into the bottom of a clear glass, jar, or small serving bowl, spreading it evenly.
Carefully arrange half of the mixed berries over the first layer of yogurt, creating an even layer of fruit.
Add the remaining Greek yogurt mixture on top of the berries, gently spreading it to cover the fruit and create a second smooth yogurt layer.
Top with the remaining mixed berries, distributing them evenly over the yogurt.
Finish by sprinkling the chia seeds and chopped almonds over the top of the parfait.
Serve immediately for the best texture, or cover and chill in the refrigerator for up to 30 minutes before serving.
What to keep in mind.
4 tips from the recipe — small details that make a real difference to the final dish.
- 1For a thicker parfait, use full-fat Greek yogurt. If you prefer a lighter option, low-fat or non-fat Greek yogurt works well too.
- 2To prepare ahead, assemble the parfait without the nuts and seeds, then add them just before serving to maintain their crunch.
- 3Experiment with different berry combinations based on seasonal availability and personal preference, such as blackberries, cherries, or even stone fruits like peaches.
- 4For an extra protein boost, stir a scoop of unflavored protein powder into the Greek yogurt before layering.
Adapt it for your goals.
