Simple Soursop Smoothie
A creamy, dairy-free tropical smoothie that highlights the unique, subtly sweet and tangy flavor of soursop. The coconut milk adds a luxurious richness and healthy fats, making it a satisfying and refreshing treat.
For 1 serving
If using fresh soursop, carefully cut it open, scoop out the white pulp, and remove all the black seeds. Measure out 1 cup of pulp.
Combine the soursop pulp, light coconut milk, fresh lime juice, and optional maple syrup (if using) in a high-speed blender.
Add the ice cubes to the blender if you prefer a colder, thicker smoothie.
Secure the lid and blend on low speed to start, then gradually increase to high speed. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no lumps.
Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness or tartness as desired by adding more maple syrup or a squeeze of lime juice.
Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
What to keep in mind.
4 tips from the recipe — small details that make a real difference to the final dish.
- 1For an extra thick and frosty smoothie, use frozen soursop pulp. If using fresh soursop, you can freeze the pulp for at least 30 minutes before blending.
- 2Adjust the amount of coconut milk to achieve your desired consistency. For a thinner smoothie, add a splash more; for a thicker one, use slightly less or add more frozen soursop/ice.
- 3Soursop's sweetness can vary. Always taste before adding sweetener, and adjust the maple syrup or agave nectar to your personal preference.
- 4Serve this smoothie immediately after blending, as its texture and flavor are best when fresh.
Adapt it for your goals.
