Grab-and-Go Yogurt Parfait
This Grab-and-Go Yogurt Parfait recipe allows for quick assembly of a nutritious and delicious snack or breakfast. Layered in convenient mason jars, it's perfect for meal prepping and enjoying on the go.
For 2 servings
Gather all ingredients and prepare two 16-ounce mason jars or similar clear containers. If using frozen berries, ensure they are thawed and drained of excess liquid.
Start by spooning approximately ¼ cup (about 60g) of Greek yogurt into the bottom of each mason jar, spreading it evenly.
Next, add a layer of mixed berries over the yogurt, using about ¼ cup (about 40g) per jar. If using, sprinkle ½ tablespoon of chia seeds over the berries in each jar.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of granola over the berry layer in each jar, followed by 1 tablespoon of sliced almonds.
Repeat the layering process: add another ¼ cup of Greek yogurt to each jar, followed by the remaining mixed berries, granola, and sliced almonds.
If desired, drizzle ½-1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup over the top layer of each parfait for added sweetness.
Securely close the lids on the mason jars. Store the parfaits in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld, or for up to 3-4 days for convenient grab-and-go meals.
When ready to serve, gently shake or stir the parfait to combine the layers, or simply enjoy with a spoon straight from the jar.
What to keep in mind.
4 tips from the recipe — small details that make a real difference to the final dish.
- 1To prevent granola from getting soggy, layer it between yogurt and fruit, or keep it separate and add just before eating.
- 2For best results, assemble parfaits the night before or at least a few hours in advance to allow flavors to meld, but they can be made up to 3-4 days ahead.
- 3Experiment with different fruits like sliced bananas, peaches, or kiwi, and various nuts or seeds such as walnuts, pecans, or pumpkin seeds.
- 4Always use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt to control the sugar content and allow the natural sweetness of the fruit and optional sweetener to shine.
