Minty Honeydew & Yogurt Smoothie
An incredibly refreshing and hydrating smoothie that gets a protein boost from Greek yogurt, making it a perfectly balanced breakfast or post-workout snack.
For 1 serving
Gather all ingredients. Ensure honeydew is frozen solid for the best texture. Wash the fresh mint leaves thoroughly.
Add the frozen honeydew chunks, plain Greek yogurt, fresh mint leaves, and fresh lime juice to a high-speed blender.
Pour in 1/4 cup of cold water or unsweetened almond milk. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.
Secure the lid and blend on low speed initially, gradually increasing to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender with a spatula if necessary.
Check the consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, add an additional tablespoon or two of water or milk and blend again until desired creaminess is achieved.
Taste the smoothie and adjust seasonings if needed; a little more lime for tang or sweetener for sweetness.
Pour the minty honeydew smoothie into a tall glass. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig or a thin slice of lime, and serve immediately.
What to keep in mind.
4 tips from the recipe — small details that make a real difference to the final dish.
- 1For extra coldness and a thicker smoothie, freeze your Greek yogurt in an ice cube tray before blending.
- 2If you don't have frozen honeydew, use fresh honeydew and add 1/2 cup of ice cubes to achieve a similar frosty texture.
- 3Adjust the amount of liquid gradually. Start with less and add more as needed to reach your preferred smoothie consistency.
- 4To enhance the mint flavor, gently tear the mint leaves before adding them to the blender to release more of their essential oils.
Adapt it for your goals.
