- Pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel.
Halve the melon and remove seeds.
- Place the melon on a stable cutting board.
- Using a large, sharp knife, carefully cut the melon in half from stem to end.
- Use a spoon to scoop out all the seeds and fibrous strings from the center of each half.
Slice the melon into wedges.
- Place each melon half cut-side down on the cutting board.
- Slice each half into 6 even wedges, creating 12 wedges in total.
- If desired, you can trim the rind off each wedge before serving.
TIPLeaving the rind on makes the wedges easier to handle, especially when wrapping with prosciutto.Chill and serve.
For the best flavor and texture, ensure the melon is well-chilled before serving. If it's not already cold, place the wedges in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
TIPServing melon cold enhances its sweetness and refreshing quality.
